Peace Day at the Philadelphia Shambhala Center

The Philadelphia Shambhala Center invites you to join us for a morning of free, public events in honor of the UN International Day of Peace. The program will include community meditation, a discussion group exploring how Buddhist wisdom can support the work of social justice and peace, and an outdoor Peace Day meditation on the Schuylkill river.

All are welcome to attend any one activity or stay for the full morning. Registration is not required, but it is helpful. You only need to register once to attend any or all of the activities; you may use either registration link below.

10:00–11:00 AM: Sunday Sitting Meditation
Join us for any portion of this hour of community meditation. All are welcome, including those new to meditation.

11:00–11:45 AM: Engaged Dharma Discussion — Buddhism and Social Justice
Our monthly Engaged Dharma discussion will explore how Buddhist wisdom can support the work of social justice and peace.

After the Discussion Group: Peace Day Meditation by the River
Immediately following the Engaged Dharma discussion, we’ll walk together to the Schuylkill Banks for an outdoor meditation in honor of Peace Day.
