SUMMARY:An Evening of Singing Our Grief
DESCRIPTION:Join Salt Trails for this communal gathering using singing and sound to access\, express and release some of the grief we are all carrying. Our grief was never meant to be private and tended alone. And in these heavy and tumultuous times\, we need community more than ever. Through guided vocalizations and singing\, invitations to name our sorrows and share the songs of our heart\, we will build a container to help hold what feels too immense to carry on our own. All griefs are welcome\, from the personal to the global. \nSalt Trails is a Philadelphia collective normalizing and making public space for grief through community rituals. \n“[Singing] songs during times of loss can remind us that we have not only lost a friend\, a job\, a house\, or a beloved\, but something of ourselves that we had forgotten is returned to us. Perhaps we remember we are interconnected with each other. Singing\, chanting\, or drumming together gives us a sense of being joined in the grief. We are never alone in grief if we can reach out in a vulnerable state and join the circle.” ~ Rev.
