Philadelphia University Design Workshop (PUDW)

Philadelphia University Design Workshop is a class designed to provide students with an opportunity to work on real-life projects for real clients. Philadelphia University Design Workshop students were enlisted to help Peace Day Philly in creating an integrated marketing campaign including branding, identity, website, public service announcement and print campaign. The Peace Day Philly project involved seven students from four different majors. Learning objectives included working collaboratively together and developing communication and presentation skills.

Graphic Design students Samantha Mola and Natalie Vespe embodied iconic Philadelphia scenery with symbols of peace to create Peace Day Philly’s logo and brand identity. The website peacedayphilly.org was built by Interactive Design and Media student Chris Hartzell in collaboration with Graphic Design student Carly DiBona and Professional Communication student Megan Gallagher. Animation students Tom Donkin and Mike Saldutti created the public service announcement with original footage from diverse locations in Philadelphia. The students were overseen by PUDW Director and Phila. University Professor Frank Baseman.
